Non-functional machines at mineral testing lab irks CM aide

Advisor to Caretaker Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Minerals, Planning and Development (P&D) Dr. Syed Sarfaraz Ali Shah on Wednesday expressed anger and anguish over poor cleaning and non-functionality of the machines and dilapidated condition of the Mineral Testing Laboratory Hayatabad.
He directed the quarters concerned to improve the condition of the building and immediately improve the cleanliness condition of the laboratory and all non-functional machines of the laboratory.
According to a statement issued here, Dr. Syed Sarfaraz Ali Shah during a visit inspected the pilot copper plant, iron plant, chromate plant, antimony and gold processing plants.
He expressed his displeasure at the He directed the quarter concerned to improve the condition of the laboratory building immediately and repair work should be started for better performance.
The in-charge of the Mineral Testing Laboratory Hayatabad, Zahoor Ahmed, briefed the Advisor on this occasion about the overall operations of the Lab.
Dr. Syed Sarfaraz Ali Shah said that no negligence should be tolerated and directed the staff to further improve the quality of testing and provide modern facilities in the laboratory.
He also directed to send the list about staff shortage immediately so that the shortage of staff can be met. He said that by his next visit there should be visible change and improvement in the laboratory.
Dr. Syed Sarfaraz Ali Shah said that steps should be taken for the training of laboratory staff.
