KARACHI: Pakistan stock market showed downward trend on Wednesday and KSE 100 index decreased from 49500 points to 40400 points. While the market capital decreased by more than 26 billion rupees and 53.51% share prices also decreased. Pakistan Stock Market started on a positive note on Wednesday, seeing investment in profitable sectors by local institutions and brokerage houses, which pushed the index to a high of 49,700 points. Bullish turned bearish and the index countdown began. In the Pakistan Stock Market, the KSE 100 index decreased by 99.53 points, which decreased from 49.531.01 points to 49050.88 points, while the KSE 30 index decreased by 47.87 points from 16958.11 points to 16910.24 points. While the KSE All Shares Index decreased from 33108.42 points to 33050.88 points. Due to the business downturn, the capital of the market decreased by 26 billion 25 billion 63 lakh 78 thousand 73 rupees, as a result of which the total volume of capital decreased from 72 trillion 69 billion 8 crore 49 lakh 65 thousand 169 rupees to 72 trillion 42 billion 82 billion 85 lakh 87 thousand 96 rupees. 33 crore 26 lakh 6 thousand shares worth 8 billion rupees were traded in Pakistan Stock Market on Wednesday while 36 crore 83 lakh 40 thousand shares worth 10 billion rupees were traded on Tuesday. A total of 347 companies were traded in the Pakistan Stock Market last day, out of which 141 companies saw an increase in their share prices, 185 companies saw a decrease in their share prices and 21 companies remained stable in their share prices.
In terms of business, Pak Refinery 7 crore 57 lakh, K Electric Limited 3 crore 74 lakh, Pak International Bulk 2 crore 36 lakh, World Call Telecom 1 crore 49 lakh shares were the top.
In terms of price fluctuations, Bahnero Textiles’ share price recorded an increase of Rs.36.50, which took its share price to Rs.959.00.
While the price of Mahmood Textiles decreased by Rs. 37.50, which made its share price to Rs. 462.50, the share price of Nestle Pakistan decreased by Rs. 12.41 to Rs. 7300.00.
