SSP Operations Peshawar on Tuesday assured the residents of the provincial capital that the police force was committed to protect their lives and properties, sharing that a comprehensive strategy has been formulated to control street crimes.
SSP Operations Kashif Aftab Abbasi expressed these views while chairing a crime meeting with police officers across the district at Malik Saad Shaheed Police Lines.
He said that actions have been accelerated by launching a series of information-based search operations, surprise roadblocks and increased police patrols to crack down on drug cartels, gambling, advertising, and recently released convicted addicts.
“Close monitoring of criminals as well as their close associates is underway and human intelligence has also been activated to control street crimes across the district through indiscriminate operations,”SSP Operations added and said that Ongoing, the patrolling of Ababeel squad, city patrolling as well as raiders squads has been increased which will have far-reaching results.
The meeting was attended by SP Sadar Division Abdul Salam Khalid, SP Cantt Waqas Rafiq, SP City Tayyab Jan, SP Faqirabad Division Osama Amin Cheema, SDPOs and SHOs, said a handout.
The forum carried out a comparative analysis of crimes across the district and detailed discussions were held regarding the comprehensive strategy to eradicate serious crimes as well as street crimes.
Emphasizing the need to work diligently, fairly and honestly, he also directed to ensure registration of FIRs, use of modern technology in the investigation of serious crimes and regular geo-tagging.
Kashif Aftab Abbasi clarified that a comprehensive strategy has been adopted to control street crimes under which trouble points and hotspots have been determined and additional personnel have been deployed, similarly in cities across the district.
