Court reserves judgment on acquittal plea of Shehbaz in Asiana reference

Accountability Court (AC) Lahore has reserved judgment on the acquittal pleas of former Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif and other accused in Ashiana reference. The decision in acquittal plea will be announced on November 7. The acquittal plea of Shehbaz Sharif and other accused persons came up for hearing judge Malik Ali Zulqarnain Awan of Accountability Court Wednesday.
Amjid Pervez counsel for Shehbaz Sharif had completed arguments on previous hearing and said that cases were framed against Shehbaz Sharif for political victimization and Supreme Court too has talked of political engineering in its one decision.
Counsel Amjid Pervez had argued that even a single allegation cannot be proved against Shehbaz Sharif because NAB has no record or evidence to prove the case.
The counsel had said in his arguments there is no material against Fawad Hassan Fawad and Ahad Cheema. There is no possibility of proving allegations against the accused persons.
The lawyers of other co-accused also completed their arguments.
NAB counsel argued there is no possibility of proving the case against the accused persons as per record available with NAB.
The court reserved judgment on acquittal pleas after hearing the arguments.
The decision will be announced on November 07.
