PESHAWAR
In a major operation against encroachments, the district administration removed dozens of illegal constructions in the famous Karkhano Market here on Friday. According to a statement, Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) also took part in the action against the illegal constructions and encroachments.
The operation was conducted on the direction of Deputy Commissioner Peshawar Afaq Wazir.
The operation was led by Additional Assistant Commissioner Tania Shaheen along with ASP Hayatabad, PDA, Traffic, Police and Civil Defense officials.
A heavy contingent of police was deployed on the occasion to avoid any untoward incident.
During the operation, dozens of illegal constructions and encroachments in the factory were demolished with the help of heavy machinery.
According to Deputy Commissioner Peshawar Afaq Wazir, the illegal constructions and encroachments by the mafia had occupied the road and footpath due to which the pedestrians were facing serious problems.
All illegal constructions and encroachments were eliminated by using heavy machinery while conducting joint operations with Indiscriminate operation against illegal encroachments will continue in all areas of Peshawar and strict action will be taken against those who encroach again.
