ISLAMABAD
Petition has been filed in Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) to stop President Arif Alvi from working and to remove him from office. Petition against President was filed by Ghulam Murtaza under Clause 3 of Article 184 of the Constitution and President and Ministry of Law have been made respondent in the petition.
The stance adopted in the petition that President Arif Alvi misused his power and ridiculed the position of the President. It is further said in the petition that President belongs to the entire nation and not only to a political party and Arif Alvi has dedicated his presidential office to PTI’s political activities.
Further petitioner said that Arif Alvi committed an unconstitutional act by misusing the office of the President. President has also neglected his constitutional responsibility.
It is further stated in petition that it was President’s duty to give the date of the general elections but he did not give the date.
President has also been guilty of illegally dissolving the Assembly and has not ensured compliance with the Constitution under Article 5 of the Constitution.
Arif Alvi should be stopped from working as President and action should be taken against him for violating the constitution and law.
