Reforms crucial to ensure transparency and impartiality in polls: Faiq

Muhammad Faiq Shah, founder and chairman of the Amun Taraqqi Party said Saturday reforms are imperative to ensure transparent polls.
Chairing a review meeting with regard to preparation for upcoming general election, which is scheduled to be held on Feb 8 next year, Shah urged the election commission to utilize all resources to ensure free, fair and impartial elections.
He also asserted for provision of level playing field and congenial atmosphere for all political parties and chance on national media on equitable basis to disseminate their program and manifesto in an efficient manner.
Highlighting the salient features of the party’ manifesto, Faiq said his party has brought a workable economic and political reforms agenda, which would definitely change the destiny of the whole nation if it could be implemented with true spirit.

We want to directly delegate powers to ordinary people, and ensure equal participation in the electoral process.
Faiq said his party ticket holders will face those people who had ruled for decades and kept deprived people from fundamental rights and facilities.
Criticising the previous governments, Shah noted poor governance, corruption, social injustices as well as the selective implementation of law have hampered democracy from thriving in the country.
The party leader called for immediate steps to improve governance, eradicate corruption, reduce income inequalities and introduce political reforms for strengthening democracy.
Similarly, he said politics based on inheritance and personal interests had brought destruction everywhere, and institutions were destroyed, no effective policy was implemented to improve economic conditions, trade, business and export.
The ATP chief said economic difficulties are increasing with each passing day.
He said timely election is the only solution for the current political and economic chaos.
Shah urged people, including youth, women, elderly from all federating units to become part of ATP movement, which is solely for public authority and justice.
He said his party will fully participate in the election.
