The preparations for general election 2024 have been started.
The issuing of postal ballot papers has been started by Election Commission (EC).
Sources said that eligible voters will be able to exercise their rights to vote through mail by January 22 while application forms of postal ballots can be downloaded from Election Commission’s website.
The facility of postal ballot will be provided to government employees, armed forces personnel and their families. According to Election Commission ( EC) sources, the application for postal ballot will be sent to District returning officer.
Jail inmates and detained accused can cast their votes through postal ballot.
People with disabilities can cast their votes without going to polling station.
Sources told that postal ballot facility will be available for persons with disability ID card.
Government employees posted away from their constituency can also get the facility of postal ballot.
According to EC sources, eligible voters can apply for postal ballot to their returning officer.
