Empowering Women in Swat
Peshawar
Pakistan Army continues its commitment ato empower women in remote areas with the inauguration of the Women’s Skill Center at Peochar, Swat. Established in collaboration with local elders and NGOs, this initiative aims to provide women with essential skills for economic independence and self-sufficiency.
The Women’s Skill Center, launched last year, recently celebrated the successful completion of its first three-month course. During a special ceremony, participants were awarded sewing machines and cash prizes as recognition of their dedication and achievements.
The curriculum included training in sewing, embroidery, pico technique and handicrafts, equipping women with valuable skills for employment and entrepreneurship.
The closing ceremony also featured an exhibition showcasing the sewing and embroidery masterpieces crafted by the local women during the course.
The event garnered significant praise from the community, highlighting the positive impact of the Skill Center on women’s lives. Encouraged by the overwhelming response, the Women’s Skill Center is set to commence its second edition in February, with a growing number of women eager to enroll.
Local women expressed gratitude towards the Pakistan Army for its efforts in establishing the Skill Center, emphasizing its role in fostering economic empowerment and independence.
