Khyber Medical University (KMU) and the Young Doctors Association Academic and Research Society (YDA AARS) have formally solidified their commitment to collaborative endeavors in academic and research domains through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The signing ceremony, held at the KMU, served to underscore the dedication to mutual scientific and technological cooperation. Professor Dr. Zia Ul Haq, Vice-Chancellor KMU, represented KMU, while Dr. Rizwan Kundi, the Patron In Chief of the Young Doctors Association, signed on behalf of YDA AARS. Distinguished individuals such as Prof. Dr. Saleem Gandapur, Controller of Examinations KMU, Dr. Zohaib Khan, Director ORIC, Dr. Ijaz Iqbal, President YDA AARS, and other YDA representatives were also present at the occasion.
The MoU outlines the shared objectives of both institutions, aiming to propel the state of science and technology through mutual cooperation.
Key provisions include facilitating the exchange of ideas, skills, and techniques in areas of mutual interest, collaborating on scientific research and technological development projects, organizing joint conferences, seminars, symposia, or workshops on national and international issues, identifying funding opportunities, submitting joint grant applications to national or international donors, and mutually utilizing each other’s research and technical facilities.
The MoU is set to be effective for ten years, subject to termination by either party with six months’ prior notice. Additionally, both parties commit to holding periodic meetings, monitoring implementation, and preparing annual progress reports, with designated Liaison Officers overseeing these processes. Any requests for amendments will be communicated through these Liaison Officers.
This MoU signifies a robust commitment to cultivating a thriving academic and research environment, establishing a framework for collaborative initiatives that will significantly contribute to the advancement of science and technology. The agreement is formalized in two identical files, each bearing an original signature from the Vice-Chancellor of KMU and YDA AARS.
