Militant Group Zainebiyoun declared proscribed in Pakistan

Pakistan has declared the Zainebiyoun Brigade, an Iran-backed Shiite militant group as proscribed outfit being terrorist organization.
The order in this regard was issued by interior ministry on March 29 which came to open on April 11.
According to notification, Zainebiyoun Brigade, is threat for peace and security of the country.
It has been said in the notification interior ministry under the powers invested in anti terrorism act 1997 has included name of . , Zainebiyoun Brigade in schedule 1 consisting of proscribed organizations.
National Counter Terrorism Authority (NECTA) has also included in its list of banned outfits placed on its website. With the inclusion of , Zainebiyoun Brigade, total number of proscribed outfits has reached 79.
Zainebiyoun Brigade was included by US territory in its financial black list in January 2009.
The then interior minister Rana Sana Ullah had told Senate in 2022 that terrorists of Zainebiyoun Brigade were found fully involved in terrorist activities in Pakistan from 2019 to 2021.
An Arab broadcasting corporation had told in a report in December 2022 Karachi police arrested several members of this outfit from December 2020 to January 2021. This year the authorities launched investigation in respect of money laundering network affiliated with this group.
The then DG of ISI Maj General Babar Iftikhar had confirmed while talking to media men in 2021law enforcement agencies have arrested several militants affiliated with Zainebiyoun Brigade.
