Police on Monday claimed to have arrested key member of a gang bandits who were involved in several cases of robberies and recovered looted valuables.
Cantonment Division Police said in a statement that SHO Tehkal Police Station Noor Muhammad conducted an important operation under the supervision of ASP Town Nazish Shahzadi and arrested ring leader of the gang.
The police during the operation also recovered two stolen motorcycles, two valuable mobile phones, and a pistol used in various incidents of robberies.
The arrested person has been identified as Hazrat Ullah, resident of Shaheed Abad area of the provincial capita.
The police team initiated operations in various areas after a complaint of robbery was registered by a citizen identified as Adnan.
Following the incident of robbery, SP Cantt Division Waqas Rafiq formed a special team consisting of SHO Tahkal Noor Mohammad Khan and investigation team under the supervision of ASP Town Nazish Shahzadi and arrested the accused.
SHO Police Station Tehkal Noor Mohammad Khan and other investigation team started a comprehensive investigation and closely monitored several criminals and suspicious persons as well as recordings of CCTV cameras installed at different locations were also obtained.
During the investigation, the group was traced and the main accused was arrested.
Similarly, during the second operation, SHO Tahkal police station Noor Muhammad Khan along with other policemen arrested two suspects Usman and Yar Muhammad alias Qumdan who were involved in the firing for the purpose of intimidation.
The arrested suspects are residents of the neighboring country of Afghanistan.
