SST Welfare Association delegation calls on Speaker KP Assembly

A delegation of Senior School Teachers (SSTs) Welfare Association Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa met with Speaker Provincial Assembly Babar Saleem Swati to issue notification of SST upgradation before presenting the provincial budget, SST upgradation and government employees in the upcoming budget, a press statement says, according to the statement presenting a Charter of Demand containing a substantial increase in salaries and other demands, the speaker of the provincial assembly assured to solve the issue of SST cadre upgradation on a priority basis.
The delegation was included by SST Welfare Association of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Provincial President Zulfiqar Ahmed, Provincial General Secretary Farhad Takar, Provincial Spokesperson Javed Iqbal, Ikram Bacha, Bakht Buland Khan, Ali Mast Jadoon, Sher Bahadur, Haseeb-ur- Rahman, Aurangzeb, Rafiq Javed, Ghaziz Ahmed, Osama and other s. On this occasion, the delegation presented a charter of demand to the Speaker Provincial Assembly regarding SST cadre upgradation and increase in salaries of government employees. On this occasion, the provincial president while giving a briefing to the speaker of the provincial assembly and the provincial education minister Faisal Khan Tarkai said that the SST female DPC has been delayed for more than six years and work should be started on it immediately.
They added that deferred cases of SST promotion should be dealt with immediately and powers should be given to middle school in-charges by declaring them as Headmasters. Medical and teaching allowances should be increased. Provincial president said that if the Charter of Demand presented by us is not implemented within twenty days, we will start protest all over the province and will stage sit-in at Peshawar.
He further said that one and a half years ago, the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa approved the SST cadre upgradation proposed by former Provincial Education Minister Shahram Khan Tarkai. It was declared and approved, but despite the passage of one and a half years, no implementation has been carried out yet, due to which the deprivations of SST cadre have increased.
He demanded the Speaker of the Provincial Assembly and the Provincial Education Minister to allocate a reasonable amount for teachers’ promotion and up gradation in this budget by implementing the teachers’ upgradation approved by the previous provincial cabinet. The delegation thanked Education Faisal Khan Tarkai and expressed hope that he would implement the Charter of Demand of SST Welfare Association Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and solve all the legitimate demands of the government employees of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
