No compromise on journalism: Media persons

KHYBER: Local media persons condemned offence on Landi Kotal press club, district by the head of Clearing Agent Association, Torkham and vowed for upholding free and fair journalism while executing their professional duties. The views were expressed by the scores of journalists in a meeting under the chair of President of the press club Ahmad Nabi held in local press club here on Thursday. They said that last day the head of the clearing association intruded press club and threatened the cabinet members of bad consequences for unearthing corruption and always raise voice of the voiceless persons in Khyber. We have been playing a front line role for the highlighting problems of the tribesmen, however harassment of the journalism is injustice and is equllent to bar them from fair journalism, they remarked. It was unanimously decided in the moot that keeping in view rules and regulations of law and journalism, they would continue their free and active journalism without any bias. Our Correspondent
They also criticized some members of the association for character assassination of media persons on social media and said they preserved legal suits against them.
That the journalists always raise the voice of the voiceless persons in Khyber.
They threatened that if the harassment of the journalists was continued then they would seek assistance from the country wide journalist communities for stern agitation.
