RAWALPINDI: Competent Authority of Lahore High Court (LHC) has taken stern notice of social media campaign against judge of Rawalpindi bench. LHC has maintained that the decision given by LHC in writ petition No 167/2024 Syed Asif Hussain Shah versus federation of Pakistan and others is being criticized unnecessarily. Criticism is based on misconception. It is made clear by the spokesperson of LHC advocate general Punjab gave reference to a case Ms Balqis Fatima versus Najmul Ikran Qureshi during the debate in the case and the court has only copied it on pages 9 to 32 of the recent decision. Paragraph No 14 which has been referred on page No 16 of recent decision is paragraph No 14 of decision of 1959 which has been copied in this decision. This is not observation of the court. Paragraph 14 of recent decision is on page No 32. Moreover the said decision of 1959 relates to period prior to declaration of Ahmadis (Qadianis) as Non Muslim. Therefore, linking the said decision to the learned judge or presenting it as institutional view is not correct which negates completely the propaganda on social media. In the light of these facts the propaganda being launched on social media against the judge is highly condemnable. Online
