PESHAWAR: A health emergency was declared in hospitals of Bannu district in view of the prevailing law and order situation in the district. A notification issued by the provincial health department stated that a health emergency in district Bannu has been imposed on the special request of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bannu. All medical personnel including doctors and paramedics have been put on high alert to deal with the situation on war footing and to minimize the risk of loss of life. The director of Medical Teaching Institute (MTI) Bannu, Medical Superintendent (MS) and District Health Officer (DHO) Bannu has also been instructed to stay in close touch with all the stakeholders, especially the district administration, rescue and relief teams.
