PESHAWAR: The Senate of the University of Engineering and Technology Mardan on Tuesday approved Rs 443.725 million annual budget for 2024-25 unanimously for the university, said an official handout. The meeting of the Senate was chaired by provincial minister for higher education Meena Khan Afridi. In the meeting attended by other members, a detailed briefing was given on the budget of the university for the year 2024-25, while the year 2023-24 of the university was also reviewed. The forum was informed that compared to last year, the other expenses without salary have been reduced this year. In the meeting, the grant received by the university from HEC and various suggestions regarding reducing and improving the deficit of the university budget are also under consideration. During the meeting, the provincial Minister Meena Khan Afridi, appreciated the reduction in the university’s expenses and issued instructions that the university’s spending must be audited through a third party.
