New DC Peshawar takes charge

PESHAWAR: Captain retired Sarmad Saleem Akram, a BS-18 officer of Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS), assumed the charge of the Deputy Commissioner Peshawar on Tuesday. Mr Sarmad succeeded Afaq Wazir, who has been directed to report to the Establishment Department. He earlier worked as Additional Secretary (Staff) to Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Sarmad Saleem Akram also served important posts including DC Hangu, Lower Dir, Khuzdar and DC in a district in Balochistan. In a statement issued here newly appointed DC Peshawar Captain retired Sarmad Salim Akram said that under the leadership of Commissioner Peshawar Division Riaz Khan Mehsud, all resources will be utilized to provide all possible relief to the people.
