CS-KP reviews irrigation department flood contingency plan

An important meeting held here on Thursday with Chief Secretary Nadeem Aslam Chaudhary in the chair, reviewed the irrigation department flood preparedness.
The meeting was also attended by the Additional Chief Secretary Planning & Development Department, relevant secretaries and officials.
During the meeting, the irrigation department presented a comprehensive overview of the flood contingency plan for monsoon season. The briefing mentioned the establishment of a flood emergency cell in Peshawar and the status of the rehabilitation of gauges, pre-flood inspection of structures, and other necessary flood-related infrastructure.
Chief Secretary Nadeem Aslam Chaudhary emphasized the importance of maintaining flood readiness to mitigate the impact of potential floods. He directed all departments to ensure that all measures are in place and to remain vigilant throughout the monsoon season.
Additionally, the operationalization of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Water Resources Regulatory Authority was discussed, highlighting the need for efficient water resource management in the province
CS visits Rescue 1122 Headquarters
Chief Secretary (CS) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry on Thursday visited Rescue 1122 Headquarters and inspected its various sections.
He was received by Director General Rescue 1122, Dr. Muhammad Ayaz Khan who briefed CS about performance and operational ambit of emergency rescue service. The CS also informed about vehicles and machinery being used by 1122 during emergencies.
Speaking on the occasion, CS said rescue service was being provided needed equipments and machinery to deal emergencies and untoward incidents. He said that a procedure would be devised enabling rescue service to use helicopter for rescue and evacuation in far flung areas.
He said that emergency rescue service 1122 would be provided medical-bikes to deal emergencies in congested areas and alleyways of the city. He also directed to ensure establishment of emergency exits in high rise buildings for security of people.
