ISLAMABAD: Interior minister Mohsin Naqvi while ordering to upgrade Islamabad police stations on the pattern of smart police station has made it clear no compromise will be made on the merit of recruitment in Islamabad police. A review meeting on the progress in the matter of upgradation of police stations in Islamabad was held under the interior minister Mohsin Naqvi Saturday. The interior minister said I myself have visited police stations. What pitiable plight I have seen is indescribable. The traditional police stations have become symbol of fear. The complainant thinks several time before coming to police station. He indicated the police stations will be upgraded under phased program and then will be changed into smart police stations. He directed that the plan be implemented as soon as possible besides identifying the land for the police stations set up in other buildings. He assured every possible assistance will be provided for smart police stations.
