CM-KP open Marged District Inter Academies Games in colourful ceremony

The Inter Academies Games 2024 for the merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have started. The games were officially inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sardar Ali Amin Khan Gandapur on Wednesday evening, the historic day of Independence Day, August 14, at the Hayatabad Sports Complex. It was held in a colorful ceremony in which the adviser on sports and youth affairs Syed Fakhr Jahan, besides provincial ministers Syed Qasim Ali Shah, Fazal Hakeem, Secretary Sports Matiullah, Commissioner Peshawar Riaz Khan Mehsud, DG Sports Abdul Nasir, DG Local Government Junaid. Khan, Director Sports merged district Raziullah Betani, other senior government officials, sports fans, athletes and men and women participated in the ceremony. Fireworks were displayed in the ceremony, while along with national songs, teams of players from various merged districts gave march past to the guests.
A total of 455 players from 7 affiliated districts and 6 sub-divisions participated in these competitions which will continue till August 18. These sports include cricket, football and badminton. Food and other facilities are also being given while the winners and runners-up in cricket and football games will be given cash prizes of Rs 150,000 and Rs 100,000 respectively. A prize of Rs 50000 will be given. In the inauguration ceremony, along with these prizes, the Chief Minister also announced an additional amount of Rs 30 lakh for this sports event. Speaking at the event, Sports Adviser Syed Fakhar Jahan thanked Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and said that he is taking personal interest in sports activities and promotion. He said that our leader Imran Khan and Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He has personally been a sportsman and wants the development and promotion of sports. He added that we have made a calendar for 12 sports events every year and will organize one sports event every month. They are also starting the talent hunt program which is an important project to bring out the natural talent and in this the players will be given a stipend of 25,000 per month. He said that the government will support the players of this province in every way. The sports advisor asked the players to play with determination as the players do not lose heart and courage.
