LHC orders all respondents to file reply on next hearing

Internet and social media applications have been shut down in the country without any notice and reason
LAHORE
Lahore High COURT (LHC) while announcing reserved judgment on the petition against internet shut down all over the country has ordered all the respondents to file the reply on next hearing.
The court while summoning one representative each of federal government, ministry of information and PTA on next hearing ordered that representative of every respondent should ensure attendance in court room on next hearing.
The court adjourned further hearing of the case till August 21.
It may be mentioned that recent shut down and disruption of internet was challenged in LHC.
The petition was filed by Nadim Sarwar naming federal government, PTA and others respondent.
The stance was taken in the petition that internet and social media applications have been shut down in the country without any notice and reason.
Business and every field of life is being affected due to this disruption. The internet shut down is too violation of fundamental rights .
It was requested the court through the petition to nullify the federal government decision to shut down internet besides issuing orders for complete and immediate restoration of internet across the country.
