ISLAMABAD: NAB has withdrawn reference filed against federal minister Ahsan Iqbal and others in connection with alleged corruption in Narowal Sports Complex. Judge Nasir Javed Rana of Accountability Court (AC) No 1 announced decision on the plea regarding withdrawal of NAB reference. NAB had nominated 3 persons including federal minister Ahsan Iqbal. Islamabad High Court (IHC) has already acquitted Ahsan Iqbal from NAB reference. Judge Nasir Javed of AC accepted NAB plea. NAB arrested Ahsan Iqbal on December 23,2019 in Narowal sports city scandal.. High court granted him bail on February, 25, 2020 after his over two months detention . NAB filed Narowal Sports city reference in 2020 and high court bench presided over by the then Chief justice of high court Athar Minallah acquitted Ahsan Iqbal in 2022. ONLINE
