A local resident died while another injured when mud heap caved in over them in Landikotal on Tuesday, sources said.
They said that two labourers were working to dig out mud from in Tatara locality in Landikotal which all of a sudden a big heap of mud fall and burried them alive. As the incident happened Khyber Rifles personnel from the Frontier Corps(North) along with heavy machinary reqched the spot and carried out a swift rescue operatration.
The timely rescue operation rescued one person alive while the other had died under the heap of mud.
Haris Afridi, a resident of Walikhel village in Landikotal was identified dead while Imdad rescued in critical condition.
He was shifted to hospital.
The rescue operation highlights the critical role of emergency response teams in mitigating the impact of natural disasters.
