An enrollment awareness walk was organized at Government Primary School Wali Baba school on Monday to encourage parents to enroll their children in schools and promote the importance of education.
The walk was attended by District Deputy Education Officer (DDEO) Zahid, Assistant Sub-Divisional Education Officer (ASDEO) Wajid Afrid and Assistant Sub-Divisional Education Officer (ASDEO) Baghdadi Shah. Teachers, students, parents and members of the local community also participated in the event.
The participants carried banners and placards highlighting the importance of education and the government’s ongoing enrollment campaign.
They marched through nearby streets, urging parents to ensure that every school-age child was enrolled in school so that no child was deprived of the right to education.
Speaking on the occasion, DDEO Zahid said education was the foundation of a prosperous society and stressed that every child deserves access to quality education. He urged parents to take advantage of the free educational facilities available in government schools and enroll their children without delay.
ASDEO Wajid Afridi said that increasing school enrollment was a shared responsibility of teachers, parents and the community. He added that government schools were committed to providing a safe and learning-friendly environment for students.
ASDEO Baghdadi Shah emphasized that awareness campaigns and community participation play a vital role in reducing the number of out-of-school children.
He called upon local elders, parents and community leaders to support the education department’s efforts to improve literacy in the area.
At the end of the walk, the participants reaffirmed their commitment to making the enrollment drive a success and pledged to continue creating awareness about the importance of education. The organizers expressed hope that the campaign would encourage more parents to send their children to school and help increase enrollment in government educational institutions across Khyber district.
