PESHAWAR: A delegation from the Aga Khan Foundation, led by Deputy Speaker of the Provincial Assembly Suriya Bibi, met with Health Advisor Ihtesham Ali to discuss pressing health issues in Chitral. The meeting was attended by Additional Director General of Public Health Dr. Shahid Younis, CEO of the Health Foundation Dr. Adnan Taj, and other representatives from the Aga Khan Foundation. The discussions focused on the provision of female doctors and improving maternal and child healthcare in Chitral. The Health Advisor directed the relevant authorities to immediately address health concerns in the area and improve healthcare services. Specific instructions were given to enhance facilities at the Basic Health Units (BHUs) in Shagram and Booni, which are managed by the Aga Khan Foundation. To ensure the people of Chitral receive the best possible healthcare services, the Health Advisor urged officials to collaborate closely with the Aga Khan Foundation and develop a model for the Rural Health Centers in Shagram and Booni, ensuring the resumption of essential services. Additionally, detailed discussions were held regarding a potential agreement between the Aga Khan Foundation and the Department of Health to improve maternal and child health services in Booni Tehsil.
