Advisor Chief Minister on Health Ihtesham Ali on Monday conducted a surprise visit to Naseerullah Khan Babar Memorial Hospital and expressed concern over non-availability of medicine in emergency and poor cleanliness of the hospital.
He met with patients in the emergency department of the hospital and listened to their complaints about the shortage of medicine.
The CM aide on Health also inspected various departments of the hospital.
Ihtesham Ali raised concerns about the situation in remote areas if city hospitals like Peshawar were struggling with medicine availability.
Ali also voiced his disappointment with the poor cleanliness standards in the hospital and instructed for immediate improvements.
He emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness, ensuring equipment like wheelchairs and stretchers are in good condition, and addressing administrative errors promptly.
The Health Advisor directed the Medical Superintendent (MS) of the hospital to submit a comprehensive report to the health office and provide an explanation of the hospital’s current state.
He clarified that his visits were not raids, but rather opportunities to stay informed about hospital issues to ensure the timely delivery of quality healthcare services to the public.
