KP Assembly body wants reforms in higher education

The Provincial Assembly Standing Committee on Higher Education stressed the need for bringing new reforms to enhance the performance of the higher educational institutions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
The KP Assembly Standing Committee on Higher Education at its first meeting chaired by Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Muhammad Anwar.
“We (committee) will prepare a five-year action plan which will be revised every year and propose new reforms in the higher education of the province,” Muhammad Anwar.
MPAs including Gul Ibrahim, Abdul Ghani, Hameed-ur-Rehman, Ali Hadi, Fazl Haque, Ahmed Kundi, Sardar Shah Jehan Yusuf, and Rehana Ismail attended the meeting.
Special Secretary Higher Education and other relevant officers from the department of higher education participated in the meeting.
The Special Secretary for Higher Education gave a briefing to the committee chairman and members regarding the performance of the higher institutions and the future plan of action.
Regarding the proceedings of the Standing Committee meeting, Chairman Standing Committee for Higher Education MPA Muhammad Anwar Khan lauded Speaker Babar Saleem Swati for trusting me in the most important role of the province.
Chairman Standing Committee for Higher Education MPA Muhammad Anwar Khan said that our provincial government has taken considerable steps to improve the education system in KP in the past and we are hopeful that this process will continue in this period as well.
