Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has said that those who came into power undemocratically have undermined the constitution in the country and halted progress.
“Violence and bullets may disrupt our progress, they cannot alter our goals,” he said.
Gandapur made these remarks while speaking to the media outside the Peshawar High Court on Monday.
He highlighted the importance of not abusing power while working on the Police Act of 2017, and stressed that the police should not be forced to act against their will, but rather work in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior and other departments.
CM expressed his determination to resist any attempts to subvert democracy, stating that he will organize rallies across the country for the release of party founder wherever necessary.
He also warned the Punjab police against blindly following unjust orders, reminding them that they will be held accountable for their actions.
KP-CM Gandapur criticized Maulana Fazlur Rahman, Bilawal, and other leaders of the PDM for their rallies, but acknowledged that they have the right to protest.
He asserted his authority as Chief Minister, declaring that he will use all available resources to address challenges of the province.
Ali Amin urged the Punjab police to act with integrity and cautioned against blindly following orders that go against the law.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman himself admitted to being instructed to overthrow the government of PTI, highlighting the need to uphold democratic principles.
CM KP appears in PHC in missing persons case
Chief Minister (CM) KP Ali Amin Gandapur appeared in Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Monday being summoned by the court in missing persons case.
Chief Justice (CJ) PHC Ishtiaq Ibrahim questioned arrests are being made despite bail is granted. These are court’s orders that arrests will not be made after bail is granted . We will not compromise on court’s orders.
The CM KP said give us focal person. He should tell us along with the advocate general. We will legislate.
The missing persons case came up for hearing before CJ PHC Ishtiaq Ibrahim Monday.
The counsel for the petitioner said during the hearing of the case my client was lifted in front of jail despite being on bail. This can be seen very clear in CCTV footages.
The CJ PHC Ishtiaq Ibrahim inquired when bail is granted in one case then how one is arrested outside the jail. This is violation of the order of this court.
The CJ PHC remarked call CM KP. I am sitting here. Ali Amin Gandapur should appear any time till 5 p.m I am here in the court.
CJ Ishtiaq Ibrahim remarked court has maintained that in Asad Qaisar case that if bail is granted in one case to any one then he cannot be arrested in the second case registered against him. This case does not take even ten minutes. Talk to CM that he should come.
Advocate General (AG) told the court meeting regarding law and order situation is there. Therefore, CM is engaged .
CJ PHC remarked “ you should talk to him . I have to issue order today.
The CJ PHC remarked this is not only one case. There are so many other cases like this where people have been arrested again even bail has been granted to them.
Later CM KP Ali Amin Gandapur, AG. Additional Chief Secretary appeared in the court of CJ PHC.
The CJ PHC inquired arrests are being made despite grant of bail. These are court’s orders that arrests will not be made after bail is granted. Family members of missing persons come to us.
Ali Amin Gandapur said we too are affected by these things. I am against such matters too.
The CJ PHC remarked this is not first incident. This has been done repeatedly. We will not compromise on court’s orders.
Ali Amin Gandapur said give us focal person. He should tell us along with AG and we will legislate.
AG said we are making public safety commission effective.
The CJ PHC remarked we will now under compulsion take action against the police walas.. See this matter with CTD and police. AG should file reply.
The court while summoning reply within two weeks adjourned the hearing of the case.
