During a high-level meeting held on Thursday, officials directed the establishment of communication between the Technical Education Department and prison authorities to introduce specialized training courses for inmates in various fields. These courses will help prisoners develop marketable skills to support themselves after their release.
The meeting, chaired by Special Assistant for Prisons Humayun Khan, Provincial Minister of Education Meena Khan Afridi, Minister for Social Welfare Syed Qasim Ali Shah, and Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for Industry and Trade Abdul Karim Tordhir, also addressed the need to standardize and improve the quality of food provided to prisoners, including efforts to digitize food pricing.
