Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government spokesperson Barrister Mohammad Ali Saif on Thursday criticized the Pakistan Muslim League (N) leadership, particularly Maryam Nawaz and Khawaja Asif, for their past anti-Trump rhetoric following Donald Trump’s victory in the U.S. elections.
He questioned why PML-N leaders were engaging in U.S. politics, despite having no direct connection to the matter, and suggested they might have been looking for external support for their own political survival.
Barrister Saif expressed these views during his visit to Peshawar Press Club to congratulate the newly elected cabinet of the Khyber Union of Journalists.
The KP government would take full legal action against the elements involved in the attack on Pakhtunkhwa House in Islamabad, he shared with reporters.
Furthermore, Dr Saif expressed deep concern over the federal government’s lack of support in addressing the growing terrorism threat in KP, stating that the provincial government and security forces are sacrificing lives while the federal government fails to provide necessary resources or an effective strategy.
He also criticized the federal government for not taking proactive steps to engage with Afghanistan on border and terrorism issues, which he said is compromising Pakistan’s national security.
