Tribesmen demand release of JI leader in Khyber

People from different walks of life demanded of the provincial government to ensure safe release of district leader of Jamat-e-Islami (JI), Khan Wali Afridi who has been arrested by Counter Terrorism Department five days back in connection of First Information Report (FIR) in murder (302) case, lodged against him in Khyber.
Under the auspices of JI, Khyber, a protest rally was organized at Bacha Khan, Chowk, Landi Kotal on Saturday that was attended by JI workers, volunteers of various political parties, councillors and members of civil society.
Addressing on the occasion JI,Khyber Ameer Shah Faisal,district Deputy General Secretary JI Ziaula Haq Afridi,Tehsil Chairman Haji Shah Khalid,JI Landi Kotal Ameer Murad Hussain,tehsil General Secretary(GS) Jamiat Ullema-e-Islam,(Fazalrehman)Azeem Shah,Awami National Party(ANP)General Secretary, Landi Kotal Abdul Jabbar,Laborers Union Torkham head Abdul Salam,Zarnoor Afridi and others categorically condemned arrest of the JI district leader, Khan Wali Afridi and said the sin of the detainee was only to raise voice against injustice.
They maintained that militancy, target killing and unemployment prevail from Bajaur to Waziristan but ironically the authorities were active in filing fake First Information Report against the political and tribal elders.
In spite of sealing the Western border, militancy on rise in Tirah Valley that put question mark on the efficiency of security agencies, they added and said jointly they could struggle against injustice and wrong doings.
They urged the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to materialize his pledge, withdraw all fake FIRs, filed against political and tribal elders in Khyber and guarantee safe and sound release of Khan Wali.
Till safe and sound release of Khan Wali Afridi, they will continue their agitation, the protestors threatened.
They marched till the main gate of the tehsil gate and dispersed peacefully.
It is to be mentioned here that the police department had lodged FIRs against scores of political and tribal elders in Khyber in connection of delivering hatred speeches against forces and hospitality of Pakhtun Qaumi Jirga, organized at Regi, the boundary of Khyber and Peshawar at last month.
