Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has decided to give two weeks time for registration of non registered VPN.
According to sources this decision has been taken in review meeting of PTA following the issuance of directives from interior ministry for closure of non registered VPN.
Sources said it was decided in the meeting to give time till November 30 for registration of non registered VPN.
Later the crackdown will be launched against non registered VPN from December 01.
One trial has been completed successfully with reference to closure of VPN. Second trial will be conducted in coming days in this regard.
PTA said time is being given to non registered VPN holders for registration ahead of closure.
PTA said non registered VPN are security risk. Access can be sought to sensitive data and objectionable material through non registered VPN. Preventing access to objectionable material is responsibility of PTA.
