The Muttahida Ulema Board has lauded the efforts of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government in addressing the law and order situation in the Kurram district.
The ongoing tension in the region, which had led to significant loss of life and injuries to many, including women, children, and the elderly, has been mitigated through the government’s effective intervention.
A government jirga played a pivotal role in mediating between the conflicting parties, successfully negotiating a 7-day ceasefire.
Both sides have agreed to adhere to the ceasefire terms, marking a crucial step toward restoring peace. The unrest, exacerbated by attempts to incite sectarian strife, posed a grave threat to harmony in the district.
The Muttahida Ulema Board praised the provincial government officials for their decisive and timely actions to prevent further loss of life and property. Their efforts have been instrumental in creating an atmosphere of dialogue and reconciliation between the opposing sides under challenging circumstances.
The Board has actively engaged with representatives of groups, urging restraint and cooperation to counter external conspiracies aimed at fostering discord.
It emphasized the importance of promoting peace, religious tolerance, and mutual understanding across the province and the country to eliminate sectarian tensions fundamentally.
In a statement, the Muttahida Ulema Board reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the government and state institutions in maintaining peace and order.
It offered its full cooperation in efforts to establish lasting harmony in Kurram and beyond. Additionally, the Board prayed for Pakistan to become a beacon of peace and stability, urging all stakeholders to contribute to this shared goal.
