STEM project in pipeline to improve higher education system: Afridi

Minister for Higher Education Meena Khan Afridi announced the introduction of a Science Technology Engineering Mathis (STEM) education project in the province’s higher government educational institutions, with 90 percent of the work already completed.
Minister Afridi made these remarks as the chief guest at the Science and IT Exhibition held at Government College Peshawar, where principals, professors, lecturers, and students from various boys’ and girls’ colleges participated. The exhibition showcased numerous models and projects created by male and female students.
He said that the project aims to link theoretical knowledge with practical application. In the first phase, professors will undergo training and then become master trainers to further train other professors across KP, he said.
The Minister emphasized that the focus is on students, particularly market-oriented subjects that align with industry needs.
During her address, the Minister also highlighted the launch of the Insaf Education Card in the province, which will benefit orphan students in their first and second years. The initiative is designed to encourage girls to continue their education. She reassured that the current provincial government would persist in investing in education and providing ample opportunities for students to pursue their studies.
At the event, the Minister distributed prizes to students who secured the top positions in various competition categories.
Additionally, the principal of Government College Peshawar presented a special shield to the Minister in recognition of her participation in the exhibition.
