Acting on special instructions from higher authorities, a special police team led by DSP Pushtkhara Circle Muhammad Ashfaq Khan successfully arrested another member of an organized gang involved in the robbery of a property dealer.
The team comprised SHO Sarband Police Station Shakir Afridi, under the supervision of SP Cantt Division Aitzaz Arif.
The accused, dressed in black clothes, apprehended during a well-executed operation, said police.
The arrested individual, identified as Amjad alias Chief, son of Taj Wali, hails from the Bara region.
He was part of a gang that had earlier snatched a motor vehicle and a large sum of money from a property dealer on Sarbandbara Road near Mal Moishe Mandi last month.
The property dealer, Masmi Mujahid from Khyber Bara district, reported the theft of his car and Rs 11.4 million to the Sarband police, leading to the investigation and subsequent arrest of several gang members.
The successful operation also resulted in the recovery of Rs 4.6 million in cash from Amjad’s possession.
Other gang members have already been arrested, with a total of Rs 10.4 million in cash recovered, alongside the stolen motor vehicle (a Vigo), a motorcycle, and various weapons.
CCPO Peshawar Qasim Ali Khan praised the police for their diligent efforts and directed further investigations to dismantle the entire criminal network.
