Islamabad High Court (IHC) has allowed senior lawyer and PTI leader Latif Khosa to go abroad.
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani has remarked what is this 7 ATA. Justice Kiyani also asked if Latif Khosa was to be arrested
Petition filed by Latif Khosa seeking removal of his name from Exit Control List (ECL) came up for hearing before single bench of IHC led by Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani Thursday.
Sardar Latif Khosa advocate appeared in the court.
The state counsel said his name is placed in ECL and one case is also registered against him.
The court inquired has challan been filed.
The state counsel told the court challan has not been filed so far.
The court further questioned the nature of the case, asking if it involved violations under Section 144 or Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) 7.
Justice Kiyani also asked if Latif Khosa was to be arrested
DSP legal replied he has not to be arrested but I ask about it.
The court remarked how much cases under 188 were registered. These may be running into thousands so far. Name of all were put in ECL. Make us understand any one thing so that his name be put in ECL. Will he abscond and not return.
The court while inquiring from the state counsel said why the trial court will stop. Give reply to these questions.
Latif Khosa said his flight was due on January 5 but he was not allowed to travel abroad. Now he has to go to Canada .
The court directed Latif Khosa he should file affidavit in trial court that he would appear when trial court summoned him.
The court while allowing Latif Khosa to travel abroad with directives adjourned the hearing of the case.
It is pertinent to mention here case of staging protest outside Supreme Court is registered against Latif Khosa in police station secretariat.
