PESHAWAR
Prof. Dr. Qaisar Ali has been appointed as the Pro-Vice Chancellor of University of Engineering and Technology Peshawar for two years with effect from 15th January, 2025 according to the notification issued by the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Higher Education, Archives and library Department vide No. SO (U-1) HE/2-4/22/UETP/Pro VC dated: 15th January, 2025. He also took charge as acting vice-chancellor of the university on Thursday.
Prof. Dr. Qaisar Ali completed his PhD in 2004 from UET Peshawar. He became professor in the year 2007 while meritorious professor in 2022. He has also remained as Head of Civil Engineering.
Having Ph.D in Earthquake Engineering, Prof. Dr. Qaisar Ali established the first-ever Earthquake Engineering Center of Pakistan which later on had transformed into the National Center of Earthquake Engineering. He has also played a key role in formulating Pakistan Building Code-Seismic Provisions 2007 and developed international linkages & collaborative research programs with USA, Japan, and Italy for long-term seismic disaster mitigation strategy in Pakistan.
