Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Zulfikar Hameed, has reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare of the police force, emphasizing that no effort will be spared in making the KP police an exemplary force in terms of privileges and facilities.
Addressing a gathering at Malik Saad Shaheed Police Lines, Peshawar, the IGP praised the sacrifices of KP police personnel, highlighting their courage and dedication.
The event was attended by officers and personnel from CTD, Elite Force, FRP, Traffic Police, Special Branch, and SSUK, with Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Qasim Ali Khan also present.
Hameed assured that the KP police salary structure and martyr compensation package would be brought at par with other provinces, with necessary summaries already submitted to the provincial government.
He urged senior officers to lead from the front, maintain a compassionate approach, and ensure justice by bringing criminals to book.
During the police darbar, officers and personnel raised various issues, for which the IGP issued immediate instructions and sought reports from the concerned authorities.
Earlier, CCPO Qasim Ali Khan welcomed the IGP and highlighted the sacrifices of over 2,000 KP police personnel in the fight against terrorism, reaffirming the force’s unwavering commitment to duty. Upon arrival, a police contingent saluted the IGP, who later laid a floral wreath at the martyrs’ memorial and planted a sapling as part of a tree plantation drive.
The IGP also presided over a senior officers’ meeting to review challenges faced by the Peshawar police and issued directives for better law enforcement strategies.
