ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan Thursday adjourned the scheduled oath-taking ceremony for seven new judges, rescheduling it for Friday due to delays in official notifications. The Federal Ministry for Law and Justice issued appointment notifications late last night for six permanent judges and one acting judge to the country’s top court. The new appointments include Justices Hashim Khan Kakar, Shafi Siddiqui, Salahuddin Panhwar, Shakeel Ahmed, Amir Farooq, and Ishtiaq Ibrahim as permanent judges. Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb has been designated as an acting judge of the Supreme Court, according to the ministry’s notification. The delay in issuing these crucial notifications necessitated the rescheduling of the oath-taking ceremony, which was originally planned for today.
