PESHAWAR
Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested a key suspect involved in a robbery incident at a shop in Saddar Stadium Chowk. According to police, the accused has been identified as Akhtar Gul son of Bahadur Khan, a resident of Atta Muhammad Garhi area of Peshawar, was taken into custody during a comprehensive investigation led by SHO West (Gharbi) Police Station Noor Muhammad Khan. The investigation was initiated after the, Jalal Mir, filed a report of robbery at the West Police Station two months ago. Taking strict notice of the incident, SP Cantt Division Aitzaz Arif formed a special team to trace and arrest the accused.
During the operation, the police recovered stolen cash worth Rs 180,000 and a rickshaw used in the incident from the accused’s possession. The accused has confessed to his involvement in the robbery incident during the initial investigation.
The police were expecting more revelations from the arrested accused during further investigation.
