Opposition leaders in NA, Senate move IHC against delay in appointment of CEC, 2 members of EC

Opposition leaders in National Assembly (NA) and Senate have filed petition in Islamabad High Court (IHC) against delay in appointment of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) and two members of Election Commission (EC).
Federal government, chairman Senate, speaker National Assembly (NA) and Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) have been made respondents in the petition.
Opposition leaders in NA and Senate Omar Ayoub and Shibli Faraz have filed petition in IHC. The petitioners have taken the plea CEC, Member Sindh and member Balochistan of EC have completed their service tenure. It has been said in the petition constitution is being violated by delaying the induction of CEC and two members of EC. It has been requested in the petition that court should maintain Prime Minister, Speaker NA and chairman Senate have failed in discharging their constitutional responsibility.
