Justice Shahid Karim of Lahore High Court (LHC) has sought report from authorities on the petition filed against shifting fish market outside city from Bhatti chowk .
The court remarked the entire RUDA is being built in flood area. Indus water treaty has been abolished. India may sink RUDA and Lahore by releasing water whenever it wills. District administration decided to shift old fish market outside city.
Plan was evolved to construct new fish market in the area of RUDA .
Shifting fish market outside city will lead to increase the problems of the citizens.
Arrangements were not made for shifting fish market to flood areas of river Ravi.
Need is there to address drainage of water and other problems in the existing fish market.
