PhD scholar defends thesis

Imran Khan, a PhD Research Scholar at the Centre for Disaster Preparedness and Management (CDPM), University of Peshawar, has successfully defended his doctoral dissertation titled “Mainstreaming Disaster Risk Reduction into Development: Disaster Management System Analysis in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.”
His research was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Amjad Ali, Assistant Professor at CDPM, with co-supervision by Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad Jan, also an Assistant Professor at the Centre.
The dissertation received commendation from two distinguished international reviewers — one from the United Kingdom and the other from China — underscoring the global relevance and academic excellence of the work.
The internal and external evaluation of the dissertation was carried out by Dr. Muhammad Ashraf, Chairman of the Department of Disaster Management Studies at the University of Balochistan.
Professor Dr. Iffat Tabassum from the Department of Geography and Geomatics, University of Peshawar, served as the internal examiner.
Imran Khan is widely recognized as a dedicated and hardworking scholar. His academic career has been marked by excellence, having received gold medals in both his Bachelor’s and Master’s programs.
His doctoral research makes a significant contribution to the field of disaster risk management and is expected to serve as a valuable resource for policy development and planning in Pakistan.
