ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court (SC) constitutional bench has restored Sales Tax Amendment Act in former FATA and PATA. The appeal pleas against nullification of Sales Tax Amendment act came up for hearing in 5-member constitutional bench of SC presided over by Justice Amin ud Din Khan. The court issued stay order on the appeal pleas filed by Ghee and Steel Mills Association. The court while suspending Peshawar High Court (PHC) decision issued notices to the respondents. Later the court restored sales tax amendment act besides adjourning hearing of appeal pleas for indefinite period. PHC had declared null and void Sales Tax amendment act in former FATA and PATA.
