Revenue officials held for taking bribe in Nowshera

PESHAWAR: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) on Friday arrested two revenue officials for taking bribes in a land transfer case, said a handout. The statement said that in a successful operation led by the Circle Officer Nowshera of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a Patwari and a Munshi were apprehended red-handed while accepting a bribe related to Acting on public complaints. The Anti-Corruption team conducted a trap operation under the supervision of a magistrate. The accused—Patwari Abdul Jabbar and Munshi Sharfat—were caught on the spot as they received the marked bribe money. Officials confirmed that a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered, and both individuals have been taken into custody for further legal proceedings.
