PESHAWAR
The Cantonment Board Peshawar (CBP), reinforcing its commitment to community welfare and public safety, has launched a comprehensive streetlight maintenance drive through its Engineering Branch (Electric Section). The initiative targets major roads and residential areas to ensure reliable lighting infrastructure during peak summer and changing weather conditions.
As part of the campaign, key routes including Mall Road, Fort Road, Khalid Road, Qafla Road, Shami Road, Ghala Mandi, RA Bazaar, and Askari Colonies are being prioritized. The Electric Section is working diligently to fix faulty streetlights, secure loose wires, and eliminate electrical hazards.
To carry out these tasks, a dedicated team of trained electricians has been mobilized and equipped with tower vans, electric bucket vehicles, and modern tools. This equipment enables safe and efficient work at elevated or difficult-to-reach points.
In a major step toward improving service delivery, CBP has introduced a 24/7 operational model. Electricians are deployed in three shifts to handle routine maintenance, emergency repairs, and public complaints around the clock. This ensures rapid response and resolution of any reported issues.
Beyond basic repairs, the drive also focuses on preventive measures—such as clamping exposed wires, removing open connections, and restoring full streetlight functionality to enhance visibility and public security at night.
Citizens are encouraged to actively support the campaign by reporting faults, hazards, or emergencies. Complaints can be lodged anytime via the CB Care Complaint Cell or by calling the toll-free number 1338.
This proactive initiative highlights CBP’s mission to deliver responsive, safe, and sustainable urban services. By combining skilled manpower, modern equipment, and community engagement, the Board continues to set a benchmark in urban infrastructure management and public safety.
