Auqaf dept recovers 3,012 kanals land in Takht Bhai

In line with the directives of the Provincial Government, National Accountability Bureau (NAB), and the Peshawar High Court, the Department of Auqaf, Hajj, Religious and Minority Affairs, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa launched a large-scale anti-encroachment operation on Waqf land in Mauza Kaloo, Tehsil Takht Bhai, District Mardan, a press statement said.
As a result of the successful operation, 3,012 kanals and 18 marlas of Waqf agricultural land, which had been under illegal occupation for decades by local encroachers, was reclaimed and formally brought under the custody of the Auqaf Department.
It stated that the operation was personally supervised by the Secretary Auqaf, Hajj, Religious and Minority Affairs and the Commissioner Mardan Division. Moreover, Deputy Commissioner Mardan, Assistant Commissioner Takht Bhai, Administrator Auqaf Yousaf Ali, along with officers from the Auqaf Department and support staff, actively participated in the operation.
To ensure a smooth operation and prevent any untoward incident, a substantial contingent of police personnel was deployed for security duties. In this connection, officials from the Revenue Department of District Mardan were also present on site to support the proceedings.
It further stated that this landmark recovery is a major step towards reclaiming public assets and ensuring that Waqf properties are utilized for their intended charitable and religious purposes in accordance with the law. The Department reiterates its commitment to continuing such operations across the province with full transparency and in accordance with legal and ethical standards, under the vision of promoting accountability and good governance.
