The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly held the fourth meeting of its Parliamentary Task Force on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), chaired by Deputy Convener MPA Arif Ahmadzai.
The session brought together lawmakers and officials to assess the alignment of provincial development projects with the 2030 global agenda.
MPAs including Iftikhar Ali Mashwani, Rangzeb Ahmad, Ahmad Kundi, Shehla Bano, and others attended, alongside officials from the Planning and Development Department and the Sustainable Development Unit.
The briefing covered budget planning, project implementation, and progress toward SDG targets such as poverty reduction, education, healthcare, and economic growth.
Deputy Convener Ahmadzai reaffirmed the province’s commitment to inclusive development, particularly in the newly merged districts. He acknowledged funding shortfalls from the federal government but noted that the province has financed key projects independently.
A follow-up meeting will be held after the finalization of the Annual Development Programme (ADP) to further evaluate SDG-aligned initiatives.
“We aim to ensure that our development efforts reflect the needs and aspirations of the people,” Ahmadzai said.
