Swabi
Senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and former Speaker of the National Assembly Asad Qaiser formally laid the foundation stone of the “Rasheeda Begum Sukh Sanjh Welfare Centre” in Alamabad Welfare Town Nabi, Swabi.
The centre is named after his mother, Rasheeda Begum, and is being established with the noble objective of women empowerment.
Under the “Rasheeda Sukh Centre,” women will be trained in entrepreneurship, computer skills, leadership, and other technical and professional competencies to help them become self-reliant and economically strong.
Speaking at the ceremony, Asad Qaiser thanked former Air Chief Sohail Aman and renowned educationist Dr Shagufta Jabeen, whose efforts are turning the dream of Alamabad Welfare City into a reality.
He paid tribute to the courage and bravery of the Pakistan Air Force and its significant role during the recent Pakistan-India tensions, stating, “Today, we can proudly say to the world that we are Pakistanis.”
In his address, Asad Qaiser shared that during his first meeting with Sohail Aman, the latter had expressed a desire to bring two major projects to Swabi — Air University and Alamabad Welfare City. Although Air University was later shifted to Nowshera and is yet to be completed, the good news is that more than 50 percent of the work on Alamabad Welfare City has already been completed.
Referring to the successful “Rashidabad Town” in Sindh, he said Alamabad Town would also become a model project of the same standard.
He expressed his wish to establish an IT and Technical University in Swabi that would provide employment-oriented education.
To achieve this goal, he has signed multiple memorandums of understanding with international universities.
He also appealed to the attendees for their support in realizing this dream.
